German engineering conglomerate Robert Bosch GmbH is seeking a judgment in Virginia federal court that neither Bosch nor its products infringed two expired patents related to high-pressure fuel-injection valves that Westport Fuel Systems Inc. has asserted in infringement cases against automakers.

Westport filed the suits in December in the Eastern District of Texas against Bosch customers whose cars incorporated Bosch’s CRI 3.0 Piezo Injector. Westport says the injector infringes its patents, according to a complaint filed Monday by Bosch’s Robert Bosch LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Head & Totor
