Marilyn Gold Kendeigh passed peacefully at her home on September 30th, 2022 following a brief illness. She was born Marilyn Leigh Gold on February 2nd 1940 in Rocky Mount, NC to Rose (nee Armstrong) and Saul Gold. She attended UNC, Chapel Hill and the University of Miami. Marilyn, known as Puddie, to those who knew her when she was a child, married Bruce Kendeigh on April 29, 1962 after meeting him in Miami Beach. The couple returned to Rocky Mount where they worked at The Cake Box, the Gold family business. They relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1969.

Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time at the beach with her family, basking in the sun and finding sharks’ teeth.

Long associated with the Florida Georgia Blood Alliance, Marilyn was in charge of donor resources, herself donating more than 385 units of blood and coordinating more than 100,000 individual donations. She took great pride knowing she helped save the lives of so many people.

In her later years, she and Bruce built and retired to their dream home in St. Augustine, FL. It was the home she always wanted and the place where she was truly happiest.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and son, Mark. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Bruce, their daughters Juli Goldstone (David) and Sara Anderson (Brad), grandchildren Maxwell and Maia Goldstone, and her loving cat Mr. Licky. Her family is blessed to have spent Marilyn’s last days together at home, just as she wished. May her memory be a blessing.
