(Davenport, IA) -- Repairs are underway on the Government Bridge in Davenport, after being damaged by a piece of the old I-74 bridge.
In April, a truck carrying a piece of the old bridge lost part of its load, landing in the westbound lanes of the Government Bridge, and damaging one of its I-beams. Galvanized Steel Sheet Plate
As the Iowa DOT works to repair the damage, traffic will be reduced to one lane each way on River Drive and U.S. 67 between Pershing Avenue and East 4th Street.
The repairs are expected to be complete in the first week of November.
